The collection consists of one photocopy of "Log of big game hunt in Alaska of James A. Stillman and J.H. Durrell under the direction of the Alaska Guides Ass'n Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska" ([152] leaves ; 28 cm.) written by J.H. Durrell, one typed transcript of the log (123 leaves ; 28 cm.), one photocopy of "Alaska" (11 leaves : ill. ; 28 x 43 cm., folded to 28 x 22 cm.) written by J.H. Durrell, and 24 black and white photograph negatives (6 x 8 cm.-6 x 16 cm.). The log details the trip to the Rainy Pass area with Anchorage pilot Russel Merrill. Stillman and Durrell hunted in the headwaters of the Kuskokwim and were stranded by the Merrill crash. A long and arduous trek back to civilization is then detailed. Areas visited include: Rainy Pass, Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, Skwentna River, Happy River, and Ptarmigan Valley,
